The Seraċini Għawdxin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ján Oblak should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Kim Bolas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Bolas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ján Oblak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Jansson in the 10th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ján Oblak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Bolas in the 17th minute of play. Mike Axisa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Song Wei Yun went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute Kim Bolas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ján Oblak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Axisa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Jansson in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Kim Bolas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ján Oblak. Seraċini Għawdxin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kim Bolas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Bolas in the 32nd minute of play forced Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Ján Oblak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mike Axisa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Song Wei Yun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kim Bolas might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ján Oblak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kim Bolas ran back to his position shaking his head. Mike Axisa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute Seraċini Għawdxin were awarded a corner. Neil Degabriele went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Seraċini Għawdxin's corner Neil Degabriele fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mike Axisa quite easily take care of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With his leg Ján Oblak managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Bolas in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ján Oblak saved Seraċini Għawdxin from getting behind. 64 minutes into the game, Kim Bolas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ján Oblak. Kim Bolas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Griffin in the 68th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Kim Bolas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kim Bolas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sliema Dragons FC made a substitution. Matteo Borda replaced Giovanni Demicoli. Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar was substituted for Kim Bolas. Selman Onkal struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Ján Oblak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sliema Dragons FC. In the 78th minute, Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ján Oblak. Ján Oblak yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. Mike Axisa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Jansson in the 84th minute of play. Ján Oblak was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dejan Cassar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-6 in the 95 minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sliema Dragons FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
