Sebastian Hellkvist had great luck who in the 31stth minute grab hold of the ball when Carlos Gardel from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 32nd minute, Leonard Lamczyk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the game, Humberto Barragan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 68th minute Inter de Guayaquil FC were awarded a corner. Pompiliu Cristian went to the cornerflag to take it. If Washington Piedrahita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roneros F.C.'s Ricardo Ceberiche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Musacchio in the 76th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Ke Yin in the 80th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Xavier Zanetti. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörn Svartengren in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Ceberiche saved Roneros F.C. from getting behind. Sebastian Hellkvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Witomir Jestrimski went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. 91 minutes into the match, Roneros F.C.'s goalkeeper Ricardo Ceberiche had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jörn Svartengren. Ortiz Apellaniz's late challenge caught a Inter de Guayaquil FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ortiz Apellaniz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when Roneros F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ortiz Apellaniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inter de Guayaquil FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pompiliu Cristian in the 95th minute. Pompiliu Cristian made a great header on Inter de Guayaquil FC's corner, it was just that Roneros F.C.'s Ricardo Ceberiche managed to reach the ball for a save.
